Kajona DevCon 2014 Wrap up

Kajona V4 and Kajona V5 and many new ideas

The Kajona DevCon 2014, taking place at the beginning of november in Oberhausen, Germany, resulted in many new ideas.
Compared to previous DevCon session, the participants focused rather on new ideas, concepts and new technologies instead of hacking new features.
Nevertheless, many new features have been implemented, including a migration of the installer to bootstrap v3, new template-sets (available at the KajonaBase) and a funky new ModuleGenerator.

When it comes to concepts, the template-engine will undergo fundamental changes. While not yet clear when the new concepts will be available, they'll provide a new way off defining metatemplates. A main goal is to reduce the number of element-templates by moving the sections into the main template.

Example:
<div class="contentRight">
    <kajona-blocks name="content">
        <kajona-block kajona-name="Row light" kajona-name-de="Zeile hell">
            <div class="row-light">
                <h1>%%headline_plaintext%%</h1>
                %%content_richtext%%
                %%date_date%%
            </div>
        </kajona-block>
        <kajona-block kajona-name="Row dark" kajona-name-de="Zeile dunkel">
            <div class="row-dark">
                <h1>%%headline_plaintext%%</h1>
                %%content_richtext%%
            </div>
        </kajona-block>
    </kajona-blocks>
</div>

The content-blocks will be parsed by the system and provided like simple-elements. Those nest single blocks (repeatable) containing mini-elements (a plaintext field, a date field). This emulates a paragraph or a content-row, but keeps all layouting in the main template. More to come!
